The beautiful Tri-Colored Heron is a sight to be seen.  Its long yellow legs and red eyes tha

t are very striking.  They have a little tuft of white on top of their head that stands up if they are threatened or excited.  During breeding the beaks become a bright blue.

The Great Egret is a very large white bird that looks similar to a White Heron.  The difference is the Egret has black legs.  The plumages are fanned during courtship and the lores (part of the beak) turn green.
